Hampton Court House – wedding flowers on New Years Eve

This New Years Eve, I gave myself the challenge of staying awake for the longest time in quite a while.  An early wake up was needed to work on Yuko’s bridal tear drop bouquet which, like most tear drop bouquets is best made in the morning of the wedding to be at their best.  This got me up earlier than my two little girls do even on a very early day. Following the New Year’s Eve festivities, I then saw the lucky couple again at the end of what looked to be a very lively New Year’s Eve wedding party, just as they were leaving Hampton Court House, while I was arriving to collect all the hired glassware.  It was by now of course 1 am on New Year’s Day!

Our New Year’s wedding couple were Yoko and Kieran, with whom we initially met early on in the spring of 2012.  Here are some of the lovely wedding flowers we arranged for their recent wedding at Hampton Court House, a gorgeous venue located just opposite Hampton Court Palace and backing onto deer parks.  For Yuko’s tear drop bouquet, we used ivory Avalanche roses and just a few subtle accents of deep red hypericum berries, to create a classic winter bouquet.  The bridesmaids carried handtied bouquets of roses and berries and the buttonholes of roses and berries, and corsages of spray roses and berries, were perfectly matched.

For the wedding ceremony, we arranged two dramatic urn displays for either side of the ceremony table which was dressed with a classic long & low style display of roses, amaryllis and Oriental lilies, spray roses and berries.  On the two very impossing fireplaces, we used 2 foliage displays of seasonal winter foliage including holly, and dotted pillar candles all along the mantlepiece. After the civil wedding ceremony was over, while the couple were having their pictures taken, the Hampton Court House wedding team will have moved the 2 focal displays over to frame the door leading into the great hall for the wedding reception.   It is such a large and tall ceilinged space, that luckily, Yuko and Kieran took my recommendation to have all tall displays on all guest tables.  For these, we dressed our beautiful silver French style candelabras with bloomy displays of opulent amaryllis, Oriental lilies, lots of roses, and spray roses and hypericum berries.  We hung large bunches of holly and trailing ivy from the 4 tall floor standing candleabras, to give a splash of green in the corners of the room.

I hope you get some useful ideas from the photos below – this is just one of the weddings we have done at this beautiful venue.  For more wedding flowers inspiration please browse through our extensive wedding flowers web galleries, check out our featured wedding at Hampton Court House or search our blog.
